8. Juni 2020 · Interview with The Go-Go’s bassist and author Kathy Valentine…. Kathy Valentine laid down the low-end for The Go-Go’s, the first multi-platinum-selling, all-female band to play their own instruments, write their own songs, and have a number one album.
In 2018, Valentine re-joined her bandmates and began performing on tour once again. She currently lives in Austin. In the late 1970s, she formed Austin punk band The Violators alongside Carla Olson, Jesse Sublett and Marilyn Dean. She moved to Los Angeles in 1978 and co-founded The Textones. She left The Textones in 1980 and joined The Go-Gos.
