Laurence Archer (born 9 November 1961) is a British guitarist and songwriter notable for his work with British rock bands UFO and Phil Lynott's Grand Slam. He wrote many of Grand Slam's songs together with Phil Lynott and Mark Stanway, some of which were released as Thin Lizzy songs.
Back in the post-Lizzy days, Laurence Archer wrote and performed with Phil Lynott . Grand Slam was cut short in it’s prime, leaving a hole in the fabric of rock music. Laurence has nurtured a long-term plan to rebuild the Grand Slam machine, and here it is, blue printed and ready to race.
Airrace is currently on hiatus. In 2021 Laurence Archer asked Rocky if he’d like to join his new Grand Slam line up which he eagerly agreed to and is currently touring with Grand Slam and looking forward to recording a new album and more touring with them in 2022.

Joined by Benjy Reid on drums and Rocky Newton on bass, some best laid plans for the band’s rebirth were set for take-off until Covid-19 brought the world to a standstill (it is one of the main reasons Hit The Ground will also be enjoying a 2024 release alongside Wheel Of Fortune ).
