The Episcopal Academy, founded in 1785, is a private, co-educational school for grades Pre-K through 12 based in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. Prior to 2008, the main campus was located in Merion Station and the satellite campus was located in Devon .
COF Academy hoped to be a football factory affiliated with the African Methodist Episcopal Church in Columbus, but there's more to the story than football.
Our pre-diocesan history must begin with the consecration of the Right Reverend Samuel Seabury on November 14, 1784 by Bishops of the Scottish Episcopal Church. His consecration makes him the first American bishop. In 1785 the name Protestant Episcopal Church is chosen.
