Another Passenger is the sixth studio album by American singer-songwriter Carly Simon, released by Elektra Records, on June 5, 1976. For this album, Simon enlisted a new producer, Ted Templeman, as well as his clients, The Doobie Brothers and Little Feat, to provide musical and vocal backing.
The Doobie Brothers wurden 1969 von Tom Johnston, John Hartman, Skip Spence (ex- Moby Grape) und Gregg Murph in Süd-Kalifornien unter dem Bandnamen Pud gegründet. Gregg Murph verließ bald die Band, als Ersatz kam Dave Shogren. 1970 kam noch Patrick Simmons dazu. Doobie ist eine Slangbezeichnung für einen Zwei-Blatt-Joint.

The album was originally released in Quadraphonic sound on the CD-4 Quadradisc system and also on Quadraphonic 8-track tape. The album was also released in 2002 remixed into 5.1 multichannel DVD-Audio, and on 14 September 2011, on hybrid stereo-multichannel Super Audio CD by Warner Japan in their Warner Premium Sound series.
The artwork found on the front and back of the album features the band, including manager Bruce Cohn, dressed in 19th century western garments and riding a horse-drawn stagecoach beneath an incomplete freeway overpass.
