Nachdem der Bassist Colin Farley und der Schlagzeuger Martin Beedle die Band schon nach dem zweiten Album verlassen hatten, lösten sich Cutting Crew Anfang der 1990er Jahre endgültig auf. Die Bandmitglieder blieben im Musikgeschäft aktiv. So spielte der Gitarrist MacMichael zusammen mit Robert Plant.
In 1985, MacMichael survived an accident when his tour bus drove off the side of a mountain, and he relocated to London, England to join forces with Van Eede. [3] [4] Initially, the two made demos before bassist Colin Farley and drummer Martin "Frosty" Beedle joined in 1986.
During these cross-Canada tours Nick meets Canadian guitarist Kevin MacMichael and MacMichael flies to UK to form “Cutting Crew” in 1985. The following year they add Colin Farley on bass and Martin “Frosty” Beedle on drums to the band and the original line-up was complete.
