29. Okt. 2012 · Louis Nunley, the baritone voice of both The Anita Kerr Singers and The Jordanaires, has died at age 81. He was a veteran of the Music Row recording scene and a major contributor to the development of the classic Nashville Sound.

The Jordanaires were an American vocal quartet that formed as a gospel group in 1948. Over the years, they recorded both sacred and secular music for recording companies such as Capitol Records, RCA Victor, Columbia Records, Decca Records, Vocalion Records, Stop Records, and many other smaller independent labels. L ouis Nunley was a veteran of the music industry in Nashville. As the Bass Singer with The Anita Kerr Singers since February 1953, he was one of the twenty or so performing musicians, including The Jordanaires, whose contributions to recordings were the basis of what has become known the world over as "The Nashville Sound".
