Doktor Avalanche, ein Schlagzeugcomputer des Modells Boss DR 55, vervollständigte die Band. Somit blieb Eldritch „zwangsläufig“, wie er sagte, nur der Gesang. Seitdem schrieb Eldritch auch sämtliche Texte und einen Großteil der Musik. 1981 fand auch das erste Konzert der Band am 16. Februar im Alcuin College in York ( England) statt.
