1. Juni 1999 · Cedar Walton's latest release takes on a decidedly medium to big band flavor. The sound is crisp and clean, as are the performances. Walton, as should be, is the stand out on this disc. He plays with the articulation that one has come to expect from this superb jazz musician.
In addition to Whitfield's musical family, he also speaks lovingly of his own family, especially sons Mark Jr., 18, and Davis, 15. He gives credit to his brother and sister for first introducing him to the guitar and to his parents for fostering a love for music.
