27. Apr. 2024 · The studio Kim is referring to is Skinny Elephant and engineer Dylan Armitage where I recorded Cardinal in the Snow. A great choice nestled in the neighborhood of East Nashville. I take a moment to run over the names of the musicians that were involved – Neilson Hubbard and Danny Mitchell are on Kim’s new album.

Foster then moved on to a solo career, and Lloyd, who had released an album of some decidedly rock-oriented mid-'80s demos as Feeling the Elephant in 1987, played guitar on albums by Ricky Van Shelton, Al Kooper, Kim Richey, Marshall Crenshaw, and Steve Earle. Meanwhile, prior to forming the popular country duo Foster and Lloyd in 1986, Lloyd released Feeling the Elephant, a collection of Beatlesque pop demos that he had recorded between 1983 and 1986. The haunting last cut off the album, "Everything's Closing Down," features one of Richey's first recorded vocals.
