Live in Japan is an album by the country rock band the New Riders of the Purple Sage. It was recorded from August 25 to August 29, 1993, at Club Citta in Kawasaki, the Bottom Line in Nagoya, and Banana Hall in Osaka. It was released by Relix Records on September 27, 1994.

Zwei Jahre später veröffentlichten die inzwischen zum Trio geschrumpften New Riders ein Live-Album mit Highlights einer Japan-Tournee vom August 1993. Im Mai 1997 schließlich beendete Dawson das Kapitel New Riders und zog nach Mexiko, wo er nun als Englischlehrer arbeitete.
New Riders of the Purple Sage is an American country rock band. The group emerged from the psychedelic rock scene in San Francisco in 1969 and its original lineup included several members of the Grateful Dead. The band is sometimes referred to as the New Riders or as NRPS.
