  3. The Juilliard School (/ ˈ dʒ uː l i. ɑːr d / JOO-lee-ard) is a private performing arts conservatory in New York City. Founded by Frank Damrosch as the Institute of Musical Art in 1905, the school later added dance and drama programs and became the Juilliard School, named after its principal benefactor Augustus D. Juilliard.

  4. Overview. Highly gifted musicians with undergraduate degrees or diplomas, but who are not seeking a full Master of Music degree, can apply for the 1-year Graduate Diploma program. The Music Division accepts a total of approximately 150 instrumentalists and vocalists into the program every year.
