A Twist in the Myth is the eighth studio album by the German power metal band Blind Guardian. It was originally set to be released on 5 September 2006 in Europe (which became the North American release date), but Nuclear Blast changed the release date to 1 September 2006.

"Fly" is a song by German power metal band Blind Guardian and the second single from their 2006 album A Twist in the Myth. Two of the songs are from the album ("Fly" and "Skalds and Shadows"), with the latter being an acoustic version only available on the single.

Als Grund wurden musikalische Differenzen genannt. Mit Frederik Ehmke wurde 2005 ein Ersatz gefunden. Erstmals zu hören ist er auf A Twist in the Myth. Im September 2005 gaben Blind Guardian auf der offiziellen Bandhomepage bekannt, dass sie unter der neuen Besetzung im Frühjahr 2006 ein neues Album veröffentlichen wollen.
