JoAnn Falletta (born February 27, 1954, in Queens, New York) is an American conductor . Biography. Falletta was raised in the borough of Queens in an Italian-American household. She was educated at the Mannes College of Music and The Juilliard School in New York City.
Acclaimed by The New York Times as 'one of the finest conductors of her generation', JoAnn Falletta serves as the Music Director of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, and Principal Guest Conductor of the Brevard Music Center.
