15. Sept. 2021 · Mitchell's formidable intelligence, here determinedly contemporary and relentlessly tasteful, is evident in each voicing of throat and string. Though baroquely assembled, there is no fat on Chalk Mark; the uninteresting rhythm section excepted, you hear and appreciate what she's left out as much as what she's included.
