William John Gordon (1972 or 1973 – 25 November 2022) was an Indigenous Australian politician. He was a member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly from 2015 to 2017, representing the electorate of Cook .

28. Nov. 2022 · Billy Gordon, the former Labor member for Cook, passed away in his sleep on Saturday. He was a controversial and charismatic politician who advocated for Indigenous rights and faced a criminal past.
"First I Look at the Purse" was the last Contours hit featuring original lead Billy Gordon. It also features the renewed line-up of Contours, as several original members had left back in 1964. Shortly after its release, Gordon departed the group, and Motown, due to personal problems.

26. Nov. 2022 · Former Labor and Independent State MP Billy Gordon has died, aged 49. Capalaba MP and friend Don Brown confirmed the former Member for Cook in far north Queensland died overnight. Mr Brown said Mr Gordon had been battling kidney illness, but his death had come as a shock to those close to him and it is not known whether his illness was the cause.
