  7. On 12 August 1983, Rev. Msgr. DeRouen was ordained to the Priesthood in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette. He served as Associate Pastor at St. Mary Magdalen Church Parish in Abbeville (1983 -1986) and also taught Juniors at Vermilion Catholic and St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Crowley (1986-1989).
