23. Apr. 2021 · Ronnie Montrose - Open Fire (Warner Bros, 1978) Montrose (the band) fell apart following 1976’s Jump On It, and for his solo debut Ronnie reunited with his old mentor, Edgar Winter, who not only produced this instrumental album but also played keyboards.
Recording for the first time as The Edgar Winter Group, Winter assembled an all-star lineup which featured himself, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Dan Hartman, San Francisco guitarist Ronnie Montrose, and producer/guitarist Rick Derringer, with Eagles ' producer Bill Szymczyk serving as technical director. After They Only Come Out at Night, Winter released Shock Treatment, featuring guitarist Rick Derringer in place of Ronnie Montrose. That album contained Winter's third and final Top 40 single "River's Risin ' ", [13] again sung by Hartman. [19]
