Lodovico Antonio Muratori war ein italienischer Gelehrter und Geistlicher. Muratori gehört zu den bedeutenden italienischen Gelehrten des 18. Jahrhunderts. Er setzte sich für fast alle Bereiche der damaligen Wissenschaften ein. Er gilt als der Vater der italienischen Geschichtsschreibung.
