Severn School was founded in 1914 by Roland M. Teel in Severna Park, Maryland, as a preparatory school for the United States Naval Academy. In 2013, Severn School merged with nearby Chesapeake Academy. Currently the school enrolls boys and girls from pre-school through grade 12.
Severn School students are challenged to pursue excellence in character, conduct, and scholarship; to marshal the courage to lead, and to contribute to the world around them. We are forward-thinking and envision a world where education is about more than what you know - it's about who you are.
For the 2022-23 school year, Severn awarded over $3 million in financial aid to qualified families (23% of students).
