Urge Overkill is an American alternative rock band, formed in Chicago, consisting of Nathan Kaatrud, who took the stage name Nash Kato (vocals/guitar), and Eddie "King" Roeser (vocals/guitar/bass guitar).

13. Juni 2022 · Vocalists and guitarists Nash Kato and Eddie “King” Roeser both grew up in Minnesota, but they didn’t meet until 1985 when they both attended Chicago’s Northwestern University. Before he was known as Nash Kato, Nathan Katruud grew up with Norwegian parents in the racially mixed south side of Minnesota.
Urge Overkill, led by Eddie "King" Roeser and Nash Kato, are two Minnesota native sons who met at Northwestern University, in Evanston, IL, and began the band in Chicago. Taking their name from a Parliament song, Urge Overkill formed in 1984.
