30. Nov. 1999 · The moment I finally "got" Will Oldham's unique form of genius was when I heard this album playing in an Austin coffeeshop just before the turn of the millennium. I immediately went and bought the CD, of course. Nice to be able to easily grab this on vinyl here and now. Favorite track: Nomadic Revelry (All Around)

This project is thoroughly dissonant and extremely low-key, with the Bonnie Prince laying down vocals that are so slow and eerie that it's almost a spoken word piece. It's an interesting album in a way, coming from a more "jazz" direction than usual for Will Oldham.
