Rubbra's Tribute is a gravely beautiful andante, with soaring string passage work slightly reminiscent of Vaughan Williams' Fifth and a scherzo-ish middle section which seems a cousin of the scherzo of Vaughan Williams' Fourth. However, it doesn't have you saying "How very like Vaughan Williams" but "How beautiful."
