Founded in 1926 by the English Benedictines, the school is located on a 525-acre campus in Portsmouth, along Rhode Island 's Narragansett Bay .

Portsmouth Abbey is only 7 miles north of Newport, Rhode Island and about 60 miles south of Boston. Our students have many weekend opportunities to visit local attractions. We recommend that you explore our beaches, museums and vistas while in town!
