After Curless' success in 1970 with the hits "Big Wheel Cannonball" and "Hard, Hard Traveling Man", he recorded infrequently until he released the albums Welcome to My World and It's Just a Matter of Time in Norway in 1987. The albums were successful in Europe, especially in Norway and Germany.
Dick Curless, born in Maine and raised in Massachusetts, had a string of hits in the 1960's, the biggest of which, the truck-driving anthem "A Tombstone Every Mile" earned him the nickname "The Baron of Country Music." In December of 1994, Curless recorded his final album Traveling Through on Rounder Records. On May 25th, 1995, Curless passed away from cancer at the age of 63. Today, Curless’ music is loved and appreciated throughout the world.
