The initial line-up of the band formed in 1989, with guitarist Andy Switzky, guitarist Matt Talbott, bass guitarist Akis Boyatzis and drummer Jeff Kropp. Talbott and Switzky met at a cafe named Treno's, in Urbana , Illinois, where Switzky worked.
Real Name: Άκης Μπογιατζής (Akis Boyatzis) Profile: Native of Greece. In the early 80's, he founded two New Wave bands: Captain Nefos (Captain Smog) and Libido Blume. In the late 80's, Akis moved to the US and started the band Hum. In 1990, he returned to Greece and founded the group Δέκα Μέτρα Δέντρα (Ten Meter Trees).
