All the elements of outstanding modern fusion are present on GHS3 — powerful guitar leads, pounding and complex basslines, intricate driving rhythms — with few of the clichés that characterize lesser organizations.
The opening track, "All In Your Head", is a quintessential high-energy jazz rock burner powered by Smith's muscular, crisp backbeats and anchored by Hamm's mighty groove. Gambale's acrobatic solo here is simply not to be believed.
