The Rhythm of the Saints ist das achte Studioalbum von Paul Simon aus dem Jahr 1990. Für dieses Album hielt sich Simon vorbereitend in Brasilien auf. Die Musik ist wie die des Vorgängeralbums Graceland sehr rhythmusbetont und inspiriert von afroamerikanischer Musik, auf diesem Album von der Musik Brasiliens .
Ebenfalls 1990 arbeitete Michael Brecker an dem Album "The Rhythm Of the Saints" von Paul Simon mit, welches Brecker als sein 'absolutes Lieblingsalbum' bezeichnete. Es folgten eineinhalb Jahre Tournee mit Paul Simon. Mit Randy Brecker trat er auch mit Hal Galper auf ( Live at the Berlin Philharmonic 1977 ).

Michael Leonard Brecker (March 29, 1949 – January 13, 2007), nicknamed Dr. Sax, was an American jazz saxophonist and composer. He was awarded 15 Grammy Awards as a performer and composer, received an honorary doctorate from Berklee College of Music in 2004, [3] and was inducted into the DownBeat Jazz Hall of Fame in 2007.
