German Village is a historic neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio, just south of the city's downtown. It was settled in the early-to-mid-19th century by a large number of German immigrants, who at one time comprised as much as a third of the city's entire population.
VCS is a K-8 school that provides children with the tools to become skilled readers, writers, thinkers, problem solvers, and collaborators. VCS cultivates a vibrant and inclusive community where all students, staff, and families feel welcomed and affirmed.
South Columbus Preparatory Academy at German Village is a public, community school. We are our own school district sponsored by St. Aloysius Orphanage (Charter School Specialists) which provides oversight and enforces academic, fiscal, and legal accountability.
Village Community School spans the entire block of West 10th Street between Washington and Greenwich Streets. Our original building, a historic Victorian structure, is seamlessly joined with two modern additions completed in 2003 and 2021, noteworthy for their high ceilings and abundant sunlight.
Communities In Schools is the nation’s leading organization dedicated to empowering at-risk students to stay in school and on a path to a brighter future. Often, a student’s personal circumstances disrupt their chances at success even before they enter the school building.
VCS is a non-profit school that challenges children to become lifelong learners since 1969. It offers a supportive and diverse community where students develop their moral character, confidence and academic skills.
