W. O. Boston High School was an American public high school in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Named in honor of William Oscar Boston, it opened in 1949 as a segregated school for Blacks. William Oscar Boston founded First Ward Colored School in 1907. The school was the first elementary colored school in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Mr. Boston was principal of the school until 1940. He was later succeeded by Miss Mary Bell Williams.
19. Okt. 2018 · W. O. Boston High School was a fixture in the African American High School community; it endured into the early 1980's. A thoughtful alumni decided to commemorate its graduates from its inception until its demise. We are elated to celebrate its legacy.

W. O. Boston High School was an American public high school in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Named in honor of William Oscar Boston, In sports, the W. O. Boston Panthers won three state titles in 1972 in boys basketball, girls track and field, and football. In 1983, the school merged with Lake Charles High School to form Lake Charles-Boston.

We honor two education system pioneers: William Oscar Boston (W.O. Boston) and Ralph C. Reynaud. Both were instrumental players in the progress of African-American education.
