The Steve Allen Show is an American variety show hosted by Steve Allen from June 1956 to June 1960 on NBC, from September 1961 to December 1961 on ABC, and in first-run syndication from 1962 to 1964. The first three seasons aired on Sunday nights at 8:00pm Eastern Time, directly opposite The Ed Sullivan Show .
Steve's guests are actor Ransom Sherman, singer Aretha Franklin, comedian Cliff Arquette, criminal attorney Gladys Towles Root, and The Kirkhams perform an extraordinary disappearing act.
Steve takes us to different spots on campus, including the towers and a Shakespearean acting lesson. Nabors, Conway and Henry are uncredited as an incompetent singing group in a small segment.
