Good Deeds and Dirty Rags is the first album from the Scottish group Goodbye Mr Mackenzie. It was released in the UK in 1989. The original LP was released with an accompanying 12" single. Good Deeds and Dirty Rags was remastered in 1999 for the US market by record company Razor Tie.

Goodbye Mr. MacKenzie released their first album, Good Deeds and Dirty Rags, in 1989. It entered the UK charts at No.16 and the band quickly attracted a large, loyal support north of the border. Incredible live shows and singles like the top 40 hit ‘The Rattler’, in particular, further cemented a fond place in many a Scottish heart.
The label followed up the band's chart debut with Good Deeds and Dirty Rags, which reached No. 23 on the UK Albums Chart. A further single from the album, "Goodwill City", reversed the band's upward trend, stalling at No. 49.
