The band was originally composed of lead singer Dick Valentine (Tyler Spencer), drummer M. (Cory Martin), lead guitarist The Rock and Roll Indian (Anthony Selph), rhythm guitarist Surge Joebot (Joe Frezza), and bassist Disco (Steve Nawara, formerly of The Detroit Cobras).

Aside from Spencer and Martin still adopting their original monikers were Disco on bass (Steve Nawara); Mojo Frezzato on guitar (Joe Frezza, who would become Surge Joebot); Rock & Roll Indian, also on guitar (Anthony Selph) and Blacklips Hoffman (Dr Brent Hoffman).
Fire is the debut studio album by American rock band Electric Six. It was released through XL Recordings on May 20 in the US and June 30 in the UK, 2003. It was preceded by the hit single "Danger! High Voltage", which peaked at number 2 on the UK Singles Chart. The album peaked at number 7 in the UK and received positive reviews from critics.
