The Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT; Irish: Institúid Teicneolaíochta na Gaillimhe-Maigh Eo) was an institute of technology, located in Galway, Ireland. In April 2022, it was formally dissolved, and its functions were transferred to Atlantic Technological University (ATU). [1]
Das Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (kurz: GMIT; irisch: Institúid Teicneolaíochta na Gaillimhe-Maigh Eo) ist eine noch bis zum 1. April 2022 bestehende technische Hochschule im Westen Irlands. Die fünf Campūs befinden sich in Galway, Castlebar, Letterfrack und Mountbellew.
GMIT was established in 1972 as a Regional Technical College and became an Institute of Technology in 1998. It is now part of Atlantic Technological University (ATU), a new TU in the West/North West region of Ireland.
