Merchant Taylors' School is an 11–18 boys public day school, founded in 1561 in London. The school has occupied various campuses over its lifetime. From 1933, it has been located at Sandy Lodge, a 285 acres (115 ha) site close to Northwood in the Three Rivers district of Hertfordshire.
We believe in giving children every chance to broaden their horizons, harness their ambition and take the first steps to a successful, happy life. With smaller class sizes, a balanced, independent curriculum and excellent results at GCSE and A Level, we are proud of our academic achievements.
We welcome boys from a range of independent and state primary schools from London, Hertfordshire & Buckinghamshire. We also have a smaller intake to join our Sixth Form at 16+. Merchant Taylors’ is an academically selective, high-achieving school.
Your Admissions Journey. As of 18th March 2024, Merchant Taylors' School will no longer be accepting 13+ applications. This change does not affect current offer holders for Year 9 entry in 2025 and 2026.
