This is Hero And Heroine for a new millennium. Unless one is new to Strawbs music, it is impossible to avoid comparing Hero And Heroine In Ascencia to Hero And Heroine. Yes, they are the same, but then, not. The original Hero And Heroine was a very emotive album. Not so with H&H:IA.
This is a new version of Strawbs’ 1974 masterpiece Hero and Heroine recorded by the 2011 Strawbs line-up. In 2010, Strawbs toured Canada and the UK playing Hero and Heroine for the first time in its entirety, which was the impetus for this modern interpretation.

20. Juli 2011 · Find out more about how we review. Like many bands before them, the Strawbs would struggle with the success they so longed for. By the time they had got around to recording the original Hero & Heroine in 1974, they’d already shed key members Richard Hudson and John Ford.
This is a new version of Strawbs’ 1974 masterpiece Hero and Heroine recorded by the 2011 Strawbs line-up. In 2010, Strawbs toured Canada and the UK playing Hero and Heroine for the first time in its entirety, which was the impetus for this modern interpretation.
Hero and Heroine is the seventh studio album by English band Strawbs . Background. After the tour supporting the previous album, Bursting at the Seams (1973), there was an acrimonious split leaving only Dave Cousins and Dave Lambert to rebuild the band.
