Anthony Braxton (born June 4, 1945) is an American experimental composer, educator, music theorist, improviser and multi-instrumentalist who is best known for playing saxophones, particularly the alto. [1] Braxton grew up on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, and was a key early member of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians.
The Tri-Centric Foundation is a non-profit organization that preserves and disseminates the scores, recordings, and writings of American composer and musician Anthony Braxton. It also produces performances and pedagogy of his music.

Anthony Braxton (born June 4, 1945, Chicago, Illinois, U.S.) is an American composer and woodwind improviser, one of the most prolific artists in free jazz. Braxton, who named John Coltrane , Warne Marsh , and Paul Desmond among his inspirations, began playing alto saxophone in his teens and continued to play in a U.S. Army band.
