Portland is a studio album by Kevin Burke and Mícheál Ó Domhnaill, released in 1982 by Green Linnet Records (SIF 1041). [1] This is the second and final album by this duo who first played together with the popular Irish traditional group The Bothy Band.

The fiddle be side the fruit bowl in Kevin Burke’s North east Portland home seems posed for a still life, but it’s a working instrument. “I play when I’m waiting for the kettle to boil,” says Burke, 66, in an accent flavored by London, Dublin, and 37 years in Portland.
In 1980, Burke and Ó Domhnaill moved to the United States [14] and toured throughout the country before settling in Portland, Oregon, where they recorded a second album, Portland (1982).
The gentle swing of Kevin Burke’s playing, the lovely accompanying and the dark tones of Micheal O’Domnaill’s gaelic songs make this one of my favourite albums.
