This 1989 release was Melanie's first album in the UK for nearly six years. It was first released in Germany in 1988. Like its predecessor is has a 'soft rock' sound. In fact four of the tracks, To Be A Star, On A Lam From The Law, Another Lie and Window Pain are taken directly from Melanie 1987, while Show You is a re-recording.

Melanie Anne Safka Schekeryk (February 3, 1947 – January 23, 2024), professionally known as Melanie or Melanie Safka, was an American singer-songwriter.
Melanie (2) American singer/songwriter (born February 3, 1947 in Astoria, New York as Melanie Anne Safka; died January 23, 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee). In 1971, she formed her own label Neighborhood Records (2) with her husband producer Peter Schekeryk (1942-2010).
