The foundation of the Valentinos started in church where the five Womack brothers – Friendly, Jr. (born 1941), Curtis (1942–2017), Bobby (1944–2014), Harry (1945–1974) and Cecil (1947–2013) – performed at their father Friendly's church located from the East 85th & Quincy area of Cleveland.
Members of the Womack family have been making music for all or part of eight decades. Womack brothers Friendly Jr., Cecil, Curtis, and Bobby broke ground as gospel singing group The Womack Brothers in the 1950s before crossing over into R&B music as The Valentinos. Bobby.
4. Feb. 2015 · By 1953, Friendly Womack Jr, who sung bass, was twelve, while ten year old Curtis and Bobby aged nine, sang lead. Harry, who was only eight, was first tenor, and later, would play bass. Cecil who at aged six, was the youngest Womack Brother, sang baritone.
