Jeff Scott Soto (born November 4, 1965) is an American rock singer of Puerto Rican descent. He is best known for being the vocalist on Yngwie Malmsteen's first two albums, and the lead vocalist for Journey in 2006–07. He sang lead vocals in the band Eyes as well as Sons of Apollo.
The solo debut for Italian shredder Alex Masi begins, innocuously enough, with the radio-friendly track Under Fire, featuring ex-Yngwie Malmsteen vocalist Jeff Scott Soto. The glossy track, in the vein of prior albums released under Masi - but a little more successfully done - might have been interesting to follow up with.
Alex Masi - 1989 "Attack Of The Neon Shark" Alex Masi is an Italian guitarist. He was born in Venice, and studied at the Conservatory of Music in Verona. He formed the heavy rock band Dark Lord in 1984 [1] and recorded two EPs with them. In the early 1980s Masi moved briefly to London, where he played with several musicians.
For one, the blistering opening track, "Under Fire", features a fantastic vocal performance from Jeff Scott Soto, fresh from his stint with Malmsteen. The melodic LP opener, "Under Fire", deviates from the instrumental assault, as Jeff Scott Soto guests on vocals for the accessible cut. The title track follows at a hyper rate, while "Average Green Band" channels Joe Satriani and Jeff Beck, while adding a funky groove.
