The band was originally composed of two brothers, Pete Loeffler (lead vocals and guitar) and Sam Loeffler (drums and percussion), along with Matt Scott (bass and backing vocals). Scott was replaced by Sam and Pete's brother, Joe Loeffler, in 1996.

Sam Loeffler is the drummer for the multi platinum Chicago based Rock band, Chevelle. Sam started playing drums at the same time his brother Pete picked up a guitar. They both had an instant interest in writing their own music more so than playing the music of other artists.
