  4. Paris: The Song of a Great City (full title: Paris, A Night Piece – The Song of a Great City) is a nocturne for orchestra composed by Frederick Delius over the period of 1899–1900. Hans Haym, to whom Delius dedicated the work, conducted the premiere on 14 December 1901 in Elberfeld, Germany.

  6. Delius was inspired to write the double concerto after hearing a 1914 performance of the Brahms concerto for violin and cello played by the young virtuoso sisters May and Beatrice Harrison, to whom Delius dedicated the work and consulted on its composition.

  7. Frederick Delius 's Cello Concerto was composed in 1920–1921. The world premiere was given in January 1923 in Vienna by Alexandre Barjansky. The work was written at the request of the English cellist Beatrice Harrison, who was the soloist at the British premiere in July 1923.
