6. Okt. 2017 · Mary Lobb — From Cornwall to Kelmscott: A Life Revealed. This eye-opening exhibition is the first to focus on Mary Frances Vivian Lobb (1878–1939), the companion of 22 years to May Morris while May lived at Kelmscott Manor (rural Oxfordshire).
After May’s death, the Manor was left firstly to her companion, Mary Lobb (who died in 1939) and then to Oxford University. However, her will made several stipulations as to its development: • that it should be used as a ‘house of rest’ for artists and scholars whilst remaining as an unaltered memorial to her father.
