Václav Klaus (* 19. Juni 1941 in Prag, damals Protektorat Böhmen und Mähren) ist ein tschechischer Politiker und Wirtschaftswissenschaftler. Er war Vorsitzender des Bürgerforums (1990–1991) und der ODS (1991–2002).

He graduated from the Prague School of Economics in 1963 where he studied international economic relations and international trade. Until 1970 he worked as a researcher at the Institute of Economics of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences.
