Benjamin Franklin was born on January 17, 1706 in Boston in what was known as the Massachusetts Bay Colony. He was born on a small house on 17 Milk Street, across the street from the Old Meeting House. His father was Josiah Franklin, soap and candle maker. His mother was Abiah Folger, a home maker.
Abiah Folger is the mother of the sixth president of Pennsylvania, Benjamin Franklin. She was born in 1667 to Peter Folger and Mary Morrill , and is the second wife of Josiah Franklin. [1] She died in 1752.
Following her death, Josiah married Abiah Folger on July 9, 1689, in the Old South Meeting House by Reverend Samuel Willard, and had ten children with her. Benjamin, their eighth child, was Josiah Franklin's fifteenth child overall, and his tenth and final son.
