Niamh Cusack ( / ˈniːv / NEEV; born 20 October 1959) is an Irish actress. Born to a family with deep roots in the performing arts, she has performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company and Royal National Theatre, and many others. Her most notable television role was as Dr. Kate Rowan in the UK series Heartbeat (1992–1995).
Niamh Cusack is the daughter of actors Cyril Cusack and Maureen Cusack and the sister of Sinéad Cusack. She has appeared in films, TV shows and theatre, and has also played the flute professionally with orchestras in Ireland.
