Ty Burhoe has been a disciple of the great tabla maestro, Ustad Zakir Hussain, since 1990 and from that time forward has been wholly dedicated to music, both as a career and as a spiritual path. Through his teacher's inspiration, he has established new territory for the tabla which continues to attract international acclaim.
Ty Burhoe's song "Presence" is a tribute to the eternal presence of the divine entity within ourselves. The lyrics use the Sanskrit phrase "Om Namah Shivaya Gurave", which can be translated to "Salutations to the ultimate Guru (teacher) who resides within us".
