Evelyn Lawler (October 18, 1929 – January 4, 2023) was American track and field athlete. She competed for the United States in the 80 metres hurdles at the 1951 Pan American Games , finishing 6th, and formerly held the American record in the 80 metres hurdles.

Evelyn Lawler Lewis was a world-class track star, sidetracked from the 1952 Olympic team by injury, but she went on to teach and coach students and athletes, and to see her son, Carl Lewis, earn nine Olympic gold medals. The Lewis family lost their matriarch on Jan. 4, at age 93.

Evelyn (Lawler) Lewis, mother of track and field legends Carl & Carol Lewis, died Jan. 4 at age 93. Born in Gadsden, Alabama, on Oct. 18, 1929, Lewis was a member of the United States team for the inaugural Pan American Games, held in 1951 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Compated for Tuskegee University, she was the 1950 US Champion at 80m Hurdles, runner up in 1951 and finished 6th place at the 1951 Pan American Games.
