Playing the Victim ( Russian: «Изображая жертву») is a Russian 2006 black comedy film. [1] [2] Plot. Valya, a 30-year-old university drop-out, works for the police acting out murder victims during reconstructions of crimes. His co-workers are a charismatic straight-edge captain, camerawoman Lyuda, and a dim-witted sergeant Seva.

Director Kirill Serebrennikov’s screen adaptation of a play by the Presnjakov brothers is a skillfully narrated black comedy that mercilessly catapults the viewer into a world in which it seems wholly normal to stop at nothing in order to obtain one’s own interests.
This movie is based on a Russian play by the same name about a man who works as in reconstructing murder scenes, as the victim. Hilarious, disturbing, beautiful.
