Joe King Carrasco, who is known as the king of Tex-Mex rock 'n' roll, [2] mixes Nuevo Wavo rock and Latin rhythms. Carrasco was born on December 6, 1953, in Moore County, Texas, the son of Tucker and Virginia Stovall Teutsch. In the 7th grade, he started playing in garage bands in the west Texas town of Dumas, Texas.

In early 1996 Joe King’s song “Tell Me” was recorded by The Texas Tornados and sung by Freddie Fender, on their CD, 4 Aces. Joe “King” also plays guitar on the song “A Little Bit Is Better Than Nada” in the soundtrack for the Kevin Costner movie, The Tin Cup.
